Covering 160 acres of land, the Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park is predominantly a pine, oak and hickory forest. Visitors can stroll along trails that wind through the natural area, catching glimpses of the critters that call the forest home, and a small interpretive center provides information on the forest and its residents. The forest is three miles west of the town of Blanchard, about 13 miles by car from downtown Shreveport.
